The Ocean 180 Video Challenge aims to engage non-scientists and students in timely and relevant ocean science research while inspiring scientists to effectively share their discoveries and excitement for research with the public. Our goal is to broaden the reach of scientific knowledge by providing educational opportunities for students and enhancing the communication skills of ocean scientists.
We challenge ocean scientists to submit 3-minute video abstracts highlighting recently published research. Winners of Ocean 180, those who best communicate the results and significance of their research, are ultimately selected by thousands of middle school students around the world. Learn how you can get involved at http://ocean180.org.
Our blog documents the latest news from the Ocean 180 team, experiences from participating tea
chers, students, and scientists, and stories about science communication around the world.
